A quick hello (and a heartfelt thank you)
If you’ve listened to Joy for years, discovered us this month, partnered with us through giving or advertising, or simply bumped into one of our team members in the community – thank you.
This year we’re celebrating 25 years of Joy in Fredericton, and we wanted to take a moment to say, clearly and with depth, who Joy is. Not just what station we are, but why we exist, what we’ve always been about, and what we’re building toward in the season ahead.
25 years in Fredericton, and three things that have always been true
Over 25 years, technology has changed, music has changed, and our city has grown. But these three commitments have always been at the centre of Joy.
1) Hope-filled, Christ-centred music and content that brings joy and peace
Joy exists to broadcast top-quality, hope-filled, Christ-centred music and content. For many people, Joy is what’s on in the car on the way to work, in the kitchen during a busy morning, or in the background when life feels heavy. We don’t take that lightly.
We aim to be a steady voice – uplifting, encouraging, and rooted in the truth of the gospel – so listeners can breathe a little easier, remember they’re not alone, and find the strength to keep going.
2) A platform that helps churches, businesses, and community serve together
We love our community – and we believe Christian radio should be more than something you listen to. It should be a platform that helps people connect.
That’s why Joy works hard to be a connector and catalyst – bringing churches, businesses, and community partners together around shared needs and shared solutions. When local people show up for local people, Fredericton becomes a stronger, more hopeful place.

3) Growing our reach and influence to serve more communities
We want to grow in influence and reach – not for a bigger name, but for a bigger impact.
That means deepening trust right here in Fredericton as we serve frontline non-profits who are meeting real needs, and it also means planting seeds beyond Fredericton – in places like Woodstock, Saint John, St. Stephen, and beyond.
When Joy grows, hope travels farther. And as our signal and our story reach more people, our ability to serve grows too.
The last two years: growth we’re grateful for
The last two years have been a season of meaningful growth for Joy. We’ve seen new partners step up, new relationships form across the city, and more stories of impact than we can count.
We’re grateful – and we’re also clear-eyed: growth only matters if it leads to deeper service. Our goal isn’t simply to do more. It’s to do what we do with excellence, integrity, and genuine love for people.
The next season: lofty goals, strong faith, and a community-sized vision
As we step into our 25th year, we believe God is leading Joy into a new season. It’s exciting – and yes, it’s ambitious.
We have our sights set on some lofty goals in the next year, because we see the opportunity in front of us: with our community’s help, we can spread hope and support community impact at a scale we’ve never experienced before.
We trust God to lead, and we’re also committed to doing the practical work – building strong systems, growing healthy partnerships, and showing up with consistency so people know Joy is a station they can trust.
